About Green Key
At Hjørring Kro, we are proud of our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. As a documentation of our efforts, we have been awarded the Green Key certification.
Green Key is the most widely recognized international eco-label in the hospitality industry. In Denmark, hotels are certified by the industry organization HORESTA.
What Hjørring Kro Is Doing:
As a Green Key hotel, we are required to continually meet around 140 sustainability criteria in areas such as:
- Water consumption
- Energy consumption
- Waste sorting
- Laundry and cleaning
- Food and food waste
- Buildings
How Our Guests Can Contribute:
We encourage our guests to support our environmental efforts in the following ways:
- Save water: Use water thoughtfully, especially when showering and brushing your teeth, and feel free to reuse towels.
- Save energy: Turn off lights and electronics and use heating thoughtfully.
- Waste sorting: Use the waste sorting bins.
- Sustainable products: Use the eco-labeled toiletries we provide.
